Bagerhat
Bagerhat District (Khulna division) with an area of 3959.11 sq km, is bounded by gopalganj and narail districts on the north, bay of bengal on the south, gopalganj, pirojpur and barguna districts on the east and khulna district on the west. Annual average temperature maximum 33.5°C and minimum 12.5°C. Annual rainfall is 1710 mm. Main rivers are Panguchi, Daratana, madhumati, pasur, Haringhata, Mongla, Baleswar, Bangra and Goshairkhali.
Bagerhat (Town) consists of 9 wards and 31 mahallas. Bagerhat municipality was established in 1958. It has an area of 7.53 sq. km and a population of 51504; male 52.24%, female 47.76%. The literacy rate among the town people is 59.1%. The town has one dakbungalow and one circuit house.

Administration Bagerhat subdivision was turned into a district in 1984. It consists of 9 upazilas, 77 union parishads, 1031 villages, 687 mouzas, 3 municipalities, 27 wards, 56 mahallas. The upazilas are bagerhat sadar, chitalmari, fakirhat, kachua, mollahat, mongla, morrelganj, rampal, sarankhola.
